Date(s) - Saturday 20 May, 2017
Hey OAC Members,
Sorry for the late posting, but I was watching what the weather was going to do this weekend.
I am organising a hiking trip this Saturday in the beautiful Upper Blue Mountains.
The walking track to be explored is the Horse track to Govetts leap walk.
This track is still doable in light wet weather, so be prepared to bring your rain jackets!
Hiking level: Intermediate
Walk distance: 13km
Approx. Time to complete: 7hours
Descent-Ascent: 630 metres steep
We will have an early start from Sydney so that we can finish the walk in time to cheer on our very own club member Nicole Mealing who is partaking in this year’s Ultratrail 100km marathon in the Jamieson Valley region (Katoomba Side).
Personal gear to bring along:
#Good solid hiking shoes
#Lunch, snacks and at least 2 litres of water (or thermos of hot drink optional!)
#Layers of warm clothing, rain jacket,
#Sunscreen, hat, sunnies, camera (optional)
What is Non club private trip?
This trip is still open to OAC members, it is classed as a non club private trip, as I’ll be leading this trip without a second leader.
In addition, because it is non-club private trip, it means that the University will not cover the trip with any insurance cover.
Max,people I can take in my car is 4. I can take more if another person can also bring their car along.
Please note: that I’ll be staying up in the mountains after the trip, so will drop off participants at Katoomba train station for the train back to Sydney.
Hope to see you on a trip soon!
