Date(s) - Saturday 10 November, 2018
Hello Fellow Members,
Susan and Roy will be taking you out on a leisurely Megafest Saturday hike.
We’ll be traversing part of the historic Six foot Track. A 12.6Km bushwalk, with some relatively steep ascents of about 772m, approximately 5.5hours of walking only.
Walk will start from Megalong Road- not far from out campsite and to our destination the Bowtell Swing Bridge at the Cox’s river.
Great stop for lunch and swim at the river.
What to bring:
• Backpack to carry all the below:
• At least 2 litres of water,
• Hat, sunnies, sunscreen,
• Sufficient lunch and snacks to sustain you for 5 hours of walking,
• Warm comfortable clothing and light rain jacket (in case it rains)
• Sturdy hiking boots or walking shoes,
• Good attitude and adventurous spirit.
• Petrol money for the road trip
We only have 1 car available, so we can only fit in 3 participants at this stage.
We will be picking you from UTS, Sydney on Saturday morning.
If you are bringing your camping gear for the weekend, please keep your gear to a minimum, as my Toyota Corolla hatch can only take so much.
Priority will be given to people with cars who can help transport participants.
Please note that we’ll be driving to the campsite immediately after the walk, so a lift back to Sydney is not possible.
Camping Equipment for Megafest:
If you are coming to Megafest and need camping gear, please sign up separately on the Megafest activity and fill in the request in “Gear I need”, our organiser Lewis Chesworth is co-ordinating the camp gear.
See you soon at Megafest!
Susan and Roy
