Hello OAC Members,
We had an overflow of new members wanting to learn to abseil.
So we are running another session to cover those new members who signed up previously but didn’t get a chance to join.
Abseiling or rappelling: Is a controlled descent on a rope near a vertical surface such as a rock face.
In this trip you will learn:
• Top and bottom Cliff safety
• How to prepare and abseil safely down a rock cliff face and off an overhang.
• How to perform a fireman’s belay
Abseiling is an essential skill to have for club trips such as multi-pitch abseiling and canyoning.
All rope and safety equipment will be provided for by the club. The only thing you would need to bring is your own personal gear like suitable clothing, food, water and money for petrol costs for your driver. More info of what to bring will be sent out to successful applicants.
Priority will be given to members who can help car pool.
Abseiling Location: Clovelly
Applicants will be notified by email on the outcome of their application by Wednesday 13th September 2017.
Hope to meet you soon!
Susan and Dave
