DAN CHAN IS LEADING THIS TRIP AND I AM SECONDING.
Abseil Skills 1 is to give particpants the basics of abseiling and cliff top/situation safety practices.
You will need to be:
reasonably physically capable and so in good health
an active participant, working as a team.
know that you will be working at heights with ropes.
You will need to bring sun protection, hence the early start and
snacks/lunch and at least 2 litres of water.
Suggest a light long sleeved shirt and hat. sunta lotion etc.
Sturdy shoes with a good group, such as dunlop volleys or a good gym shoe with a grippy tread.
Preference will be given to participants with a car for transport to CLovelly from UTS.
We will meet at Thomas St at UTS at 8am sharp, go to store and be issued gear you need and then proceed to Clovelly. Each participant is responsible for the return of gear issued to them.
IF WE CAN START EARLIER THEN WE WILL AVOID THE HEAT OF THE DAY. LET ME KNOW IF 730AM WOULD WORK.
