NEWSFLASH: Harry Hayashi awarded 2008 Club Person of the Year

Congratulations to Harry Hayashi, who was voted by the club to accept the UTS Sports Union Club Person of the Year trophey for the Outdoor Adventure Club in December. Harry has been with the club several years, and in that time has led dozens of trips, brought many new members to the club and trapsed from Tasmania to the icecliffs of Kosiuzko.

Along with Harry, I would like to recognise the other nominees, Janelle Brown, Grant Quick, Bruno Riemenschneider, Greg Myhill & Thorn.

Welcome to the UTS (University of Technology, Sydney) Outdoor Adventure Club website. This is where the action starts and finishes - but everything else happens outside!

A lot of people have been asking about the club, what we do, why they should join - and here are a few points:

- There are over 100 club trips each year for all skill levels
- We run a variety of activities in the outdoors
- Most of the required gear is provided free for club members
- We know where the coolest places in Australia are
- It's bloody cheap to join!

The OAC is a volunteer run club, affiliated with, but not exclusive to, the University of Technology. Sydney's only inner-city University. Our mandate is to get students and city dwellers as far from those sky-scrapers as possible. Anyone can join, and if you're keen - we welcome as much help as we can get. This club runs on enthusiasm and good karma alone.

What ever your interests are - make sure you keep your eye on the activities, as trips are posted every day and fill up fast. Get out there!
