1 - Walk for 2 hours on flat path with daypack
2 - Walk for 2 hours on undulating bush track with daypack
3 - Walk for 4 hours on flat path with daypack
4 - Walk for 4 hours on undulating bush track with daypack
5 - Walk for 6 hours on undulating bush track OR walk for 4 hours on very rough undulating bush track with daypack OR walk for 2 days (Camping with 4 hours walking each day) on undulating bush track with overnight pack
6 - Walk for 8 hours on undulating bush track OR walk for 6 hours (4 hours if very steep and / or "Off Track") on very rough undulating bush track with daypack OR walk for 2 days (Camping with 6 hours walking each day) on undulating bush track with overnight pack
7 - Walk for 10 hours (6 hours if very steep and / or "Off Track") on very rough undulating bush track with daypack OR walk for 3 days (Camping with 6 hours walking each day) on undulating bush track with overnight pack
8 - Walk for 12 hours (8 hours if very steep and / or "Off Track") on very rough undulating bush track with daypack OR walk for 4-7 days (Camping with 6 hours walking each day) on undulating bush track with heavy overnight pack
9 - Walk for 14 hours (10 hours if very steep and / or "Off Track") on very steep very rough undulating bush track with daypack OR walk for 7-14 days (Camping with 6 hours walking each day) on undulating bush track with very heavy overnight pack
10 - Walk for 14 hours "Off Track" on very steep very rough undulating bush track with heavy daypack OR 2 days with heavy overnight pack and 10 - 14 hours a day

1 - Aus 8-10 / US up to 5.3 / Fr up to 2 (from walking up stairs to climbing a vertically straight ladder)
2 - Aus 11-13 / US 5.4-5.5 / Fr 2+ to 3 (from climbing a vertically straight ladder to a challenging but possible climb for about 50% of first time climbers)
3 - Aus 14-15 / US 5.6 / Fr 4 (only 10% of first timers get to this level on their first attempt but the majority make it after 5 or 6 climbing sessions)
4 - Aus 16-17 / US 5.7-5.8 / Fr 5 (For the average young adult this will take a dozen or more climbing sessions)
5 - Aus 18-20 / US 5.9-5.10b / Fr 5+ to 6b
