About the OAC

General Rundown

The UTS Outdoor Adventure Club is run by volunteers. We have an elected Committee that meets every two months to discuss pressing issues, trips and generally ensuring the efficient running of the club. The Club runs on average about 100 trips a year that vary in activities like Bushwalking, Canyoning, Rockclimbing, Cross-Country Skiing, Free Diving, Mountain Biking, Caving, Abseiling and many more. These trips also vary in difficulty from Beginner to Extreme so there's something for every level of fitness and experience.
For most trips the only extra cost for you is food and travel so it's great for students on a budget.

Recently, we had a great O'Day where we took a heap of new members. We now have over 250 members!

Club Meetings

When: 6:30pm, First Wednesday of every 2nd month (check site for exact date)

Where: Somewhere at UTS (Each meeting is posted as an activitiy)

Social Events

If you're into rockclimbing, every Monday Night is the UTS OAC Night at the Ledge, Arena Sports Centre Sydney University.

Otherwise we often hold talks, film screenings and generally go to the pub after every trip!

Costs for Activities

Apart from membership fee the only extra expense on most activities is your own transport and food costs. Note that we suggest calculating transport costs at 25 cents per Km per car and then dividing it between all occupants. This includes a proportion for wear and tear as well as petrol. If you go in your own car then you can decide what transport costs need to be paid.
